World Bank and Asian Development Bank Delegation Visits Kandahar to Assess Agricultural Sector

A joint delegation from the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has arrived in Kandahar province to assess the state of the agricultural sector. The delegation includes the World Bank country director for Afghanistan, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) representative in Afghanistan, the Asian Development Bank country director, and the bank’s finance and administrative chief. The stated purpose of the trip is to evaluate the current conditions of the agricultural sector and explore opportunities to support economic prospects in Kandahar. Kandahar is considered one of the key agricultural provinces in the country, with a large portion of its population earning their livelihoods through farming.
