Agricultural Projects Worth $261,000 Completed in Paktika

Officials from the Directorate of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock in Paktika announced the completion and inauguration of several large and small agricultural projects valued at $261,231 in the provincial center and the districts of Ghayan and Mata Khan.
Mawlawi Lal Mohammad Gohar, head of the directorate under the Taliban administration, stated that these projects were implemented in cooperation with the Afghan organization “Afghanistan for Generations Ahead” (FGA). The projects include the construction of retaining walls, check dams, and water storage ponds aimed at water resource management and protecting agricultural lands.
According to him, within the framework of these programs, 12 kilometers of roads have also been leveled, and 1,580 pine seedlings have been planted to protect the environment and strengthen the agricultural sector.
Officials said the projects were completed over a period of seven months and are expected to improve water management, increase agricultural production, strengthen the local economy, and create job opportunities. The Directorate of Agriculture in Paktika also emphasized that developing agricultural infrastructure is essential to support farmers and foster economic growth in rural areas, with efforts ongoing to attract and implement more projects.
