Taliban Authorities Arrest ‘Gang Leader’ with Large Cache of Weapons in Khost

Security officials of the Taliban administration in Khost province have announced the arrest of an individual accused of leading a professional gang of thieves and drug trafficking following a targeted operation in the Nad-e Shah Kot district. According to these officials, the individual played a significant role in organizing planned thefts across various areas of the district.

According to the released information, authorities seized 30 mobile phones (both smart and basic), 12 pistols, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, several magazines, 12 hand grenades, a quantity of drugs, and a large number of military-grade munitions from the arrested individual.

The Taliban administration described the suspect as a “repeat offender” and stated that he had previously been detained on criminal charges. Allegedly, the accused confessed to committing various crimes during initial investigations.

However, no further details have been provided about the detainee’s identity, how he obtained such a large stockpile of weapons and ammunition, or the judicial process handling his case. Legal bodies consistently emphasize transparency in investigations and safeguarding suspects’ rights—a matter that remains a subject of concern and questioning under the current Taliban governance structure.
