Iranian Armed Forces Shoot Down US MQ-9 Drone Over Andimeshk

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran announced that an American MQ-9 drone was intercepted and destroyed in the skies above the city of Andimeshk by their air defense system.
According to a statement released by the IRGC’s Public Relations, the incident occurred just minutes before the announcement and the interception operation was carried out by the IRGC Aerospace Force’s advanced air defense system. The statement did not provide further details about the drone’s identity or origin.
Additionally, the Public Relations of the Imam Sajjad Corps reported on Wednesday night, July 15, that an unmanned drone known as ‘Lucas’ was also shot down over Bandar Abbas by the IRGC Aerospace Force’s advanced air defense system.
MQ-9 drones are among the unmanned aerial vehicles equipped with surveillance and operational capabilities, used in various military missions. Iranian officials have yet to disclose more details about these incidents or potential repercussions.
