First Layer of Kabul-Bagram Road Paving Completed, Reconstruction Underway

The Ministry of Urban Development and Housing has announced the completion of asphalt paving and reinforcement of the first base layer of the Kabul-Bagram road within the Golden City Construction Company area. According to the ministry, this phase is part of the ongoing reconstruction and development project of this vital transit route.

Based on the provided information, asphalt paving and base layer reinforcement are also underway in the Omrzi and Bakhtiaran areas, with work continuing. Concurrently, the construction of culverts, foundation laying, and other structural activities are progressing along various sections of the route.

In the eastern part of the project, excavation has been carried out near the Faisal Mohammadi Tang Tail and Baba Qashqar Road, while leveling and strengthening of the roadbed have advanced near the southern market area. Additionally, reinforcement of the second base layer near the coal vendor area is among the ongoing works.

According to the Ministry of Urban Development, buildings acquired on both sides of the road are being demolished to prepare the ground for subsequent construction phases. The Kabul-Bagram road is considered one of the country’s major infrastructure projects, and its completion will facilitate easier travel and reduce traffic congestion between Kabul and northern provinces.
