Taliban Distributes Residential Land to 985 Returning Families in Four Provinces

The Taliban’s Ministry of Urban Development and Housing has announced the distribution of residential land plots to 985 returning families in the provinces of Nangarhar, Farah, Faryab, and Nimroz. These lands have been allocated to provide permanent shelter for families who have returned to the country after migration.
According to a statement from the ministry, the largest share of this distribution was in Nangarhar, where 681 families received land. Additionally, 59 families in Farah, 110 in Faryab, and 135 in Nimroz were included in the program.
The Ministry of Urban Development stated that the goal of this initiative is to establish permanent townships and create sustainable housing opportunities for returnees. Many returning families have faced shortages of shelter and basic facilities in recent months and require regular and transparent support.
The ministry reported that so far, residential land plots have been allocated to 59,133 families across the country, with the distribution process continuing rapidly. However, details regarding the selection criteria for beneficiaries, distribution standards, and provision of infrastructure services in these areas have not been disclosed. This lack of information underscores the need for transparency and effective oversight to prevent disorder and injustice.
