Eight-Member Theft Gang Arrested in Herat

Officials from Herat Police Command announced that security forces from the city’s third district have identified and arrested an eight-member theft gang. According to them, the gang members used deceptive tricks and employed rickshaws to steal valuables and cash from passengers.
Based on the information provided, the group would transport passengers using rickshaws and then, coordinating with their accomplices, skillfully steal money and personal belongings at an opportune moment.
Officials stated that the arrested individuals have confessed to the crimes, and their cases have been referred to judicial authorities for legal proceedings.
The announcement of this gang’s arrest comes as several Herat residents have consistently expressed concern over the rise in theft incidents in some urban areas and have called for the Taliban administration to ensure lasting security.
