New Round of Layoffs Begins at US Office of the Director of National Intelligence

The acting director of the US Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) has announced the start of the third round of employee layoffs at the agency. This move follows an ongoing effort aimed at reducing workforce numbers and restructuring the organization.

Bill Polt stated that the latest wave of workforce reductions is part of a broader plan to reorganize the United States’ intelligence and security agencies. According to him, this process is pursued to enhance efficiency and cut government costs.

According to a Reuters report, the decision is being implemented under the policies of US President Donald Trump. Trump had previously emphasized in an interview with The Wall Street Journal that the Office of the Director of National Intelligence had become too large and inefficient, necessitating downsizing.

The ODNI is responsible for coordinating the activities of the country’s various intelligence agencies, and any structural changes could impact how security operations are managed and overseen.
