Pakistan and Saudi Arabia Stress That Escalation of Conflict Benefits No One

Islamabad: Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Faisal bin Farhan, the foreign ministers of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, emphasized in a phone call that the resumption of conflict in the region benefits no party and could undermine diplomatic efforts.

According to an official Islamabad statement, both sides expressed deep concern over the rising tensions in the region. This dialogue followed recent developments and increasing tensions, including actions attributed to attacks on locations within Iranian territory.

The statement added that the foreign ministers of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia agreed that returning to conflict would challenge efforts to achieve peace and stability. They underlined the importance of preventing the crisis from spreading.

The Pakistani foreign minister also urged all parties to exercise maximum restraint and to allow sufficient opportunity and time for mediation efforts to take place—an action Islamabad believes could prevent further deterioration of the situation.
