Iran’s Foreign Minister: Mutual Fulfillment of Commitments Is the Only Way Forward
Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi stated that Tehran has so far adhered to its commitments and emphasized that the only way forward is the mutual implementation of obligations by both parties under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
In a post on his personal social media page, Araghchi wrote that contrary to claims made by the United States Treasury Secretary, Iran has fulfilled its commitments. According to him, the recent action by the US official constitutes a violation of clause 9 of this Memorandum of Understanding.
Araghchi added that this incident follows what he described as “other violations of commitments and wrongful actions by the United States.”
The Iranian Foreign Minister concluded by emphasizing that the reality is clear and the only path to resolving disputes is the reciprocal adherence of both sides to their agreed commitments. The Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding establishes a framework for regulating the obligations between the two countries.
