Deadly Collision in Helmand Leaves 5 Dead and 16 Injured

A traffic accident in Helmand province resulted in five fatalities and sixteen injuries. The incident occurred after a 580-type passenger bus collided with a trailer truck on the Herat-Kandahar highway. The event took place in the Shorab area of Washir district in Helmand, a key and heavily trafficked route in the south of the country. According to released information, all the deceased were passengers on the bus. The Helmand police headquarters stated that the accident was caused by driver negligence. The injured were transferred to the Shorab district hospital, with two reported to be in critical condition. Helmand police have urged drivers and citizens to adhere to traffic rules and regulations to prevent similar incidents. Traffic accidents on the country’s highways claim numerous lives each year, and concerns about road safety continue to persist.
