US Central Command Claims Strikes on Over 170 Targets in Iran

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced that over the past two days, it conducted operations targeting more than 170 sites in Iran. The military body asserted that all targeted locations were military facilities and centers.

According to a CENTCOM statement, the attacks included air defense systems, drone and missile storage sites, as well as several logistical infrastructures. It was reported that some of the targets were situated along the coastline near the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic passage considered one of the world’s important energy transit routes.

CENTCOM emphasized that the operation aimed to weaken Iran’s military capabilities. However, reports have also emerged indicating that some civilian property, including fishing boats, sustained damage during the attacks.

Iranian officials have not yet provided further details on the extent of potential damage or the consequences of the incident. These developments come amid rising tensions in the Gulf region and ongoing concerns about the escalation of conflicts.
