Martyr Leader’s Body Arrives in Mashhad After Ceremonies in Najaf and Karbala
The pure body of the martyr leader of the revolution, after funeral ceremonies in Najaf and Karbala, arrived at Shahid Hasheminejad Airport in Mashhad on Thursday morning. This transfer followed farewell ceremonies held in Tehran, Qom, and cities in Iraq.
According to reports, the body was initially scheduled to be transferred from Iraq to Mashhad on Wednesday evening; however, due to the large crowds attending the ceremonies in Najaf and Karbala, the transfer was rescheduled to Thursday morning.
The city of Mashhad has been prepared since yesterday to hold the funeral procession and is hosting numerous guests who have come to participate in the ceremonies. Members of the martyr’s family are also being honored and farewelled during these events.
People in Mashhad and several other cities have been holding mourning ceremonies on the streets and various areas of the city for hours in advance to show their readiness to accompany the procession. It is expected that shortly, the pure body will be escorted by mourners towards the shrine of Imam Reza (peace be upon him).
