Malaysia to Send Ministerial Representative to Funeral of Iran’s Former Leader Ali Khamenei

Malaysian officials will participate in the funeral ceremony of Iran’s martyred leader. The Malaysian Prime Minister announced that the country will send a minister-level representative to attend the funeral of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the former Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, scheduled to take place in Tehran.

Anwar Ibrahim, Malaysia’s Prime Minister, stated on Thursday after speaking at the 39th Asia-Pacific Roundtable in Kuala Lumpur that the country will have an official presence at the event. He did not provide further details regarding the accompanying delegation.

Meanwhile, Valiollah Mohammadi, the Iranian ambassador to Malaysia, told Malay Mail that Mohammad Sabu, Malaysia’s Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, will be the official representative attending the funeral ceremony.

According to the Iranian ambassador, the Malaysian Prime Minister expressed solidarity with the people of Iran and its president, instructing the minister to convey his message to the Iranian president and confirm Malaysia’s official participation in the ceremony.
