Shooting Incident Targets Cargo Ship Off Southern Yemen Coast

The UK Maritime Operations Organisation has reported that a bulk cargo ship was shot at in the waters south of Yemen, where armed assailants attempted to board the vessel.

According to the organisation, the incident occurred approximately 26 kilometers south of the port of Aden. Reports indicate that a fast boat carrying several individuals approached the cargo ship and its occupants opened fire on the vessel.

The released statement added that after shooting, the people on the boat tried to board the ship. So far, no further details have been provided regarding any potential damage or the condition of the crew.
