Child Killed, Two Injured in Explosion of Old Munitions in Ghazni

The Ghazni Police Department has announced that an explosion of an old munition in the provincial center resulted in the death of one child and injuries to two others. The incident occurred last evening in the Dasht Kaywan area of Ghazni city.

According to a statement from the department, the three children had found the munition left over from past conflicts and were attempting to move it from one location to another when it detonated.

Officials added that the injured have been transferred to a civilian hospital. No further details about their medical condition have been provided.

Explosions caused by leftover munitions and explosives from decades-long wars continue to claim victims among civilians, especially children. Despite repeated warnings from responsible organizations, the complete clearance of these areas remains a serious challenge and is seen as requiring more effective action by the Taliban administration and related agencies.
