Taliban Authorities Seize 4 Kilograms of Opium in Nimruz Province

The Police Department of Nimruz province under Taliban administration has announced that members of the Anti-Narcotics Directorate of this department have discovered and confiscated four kilograms of opium in the Makki area of Kang district.

According to the Public Relations and Media Directorate of the department, this quantity of narcotics was seized during an operation. However, officials have confirmed that no individuals have been arrested in connection with this case so far.

Kang district is located in the western part of Nimruz province, bordering Iran; an area where reports of drug trafficking have been released in previous years. The absence of arrests in such incidents has consistently raised questions about how trafficking networks are pursued and the effectiveness of the Taliban administration’s operational measures.

The Taliban administration has repeatedly spoken about combating drug cultivation and trafficking, but experts emphasize that effective fight against this phenomenon requires identifying and arresting the main perpetrators and organized trafficking networks.
