Russia Claims to Have Shot Down Over 5,000 Ukrainian Drones in One Week

The Russian Ministry of Defense has announced that its air defense forces shot down 5,083 Ukrainian drones over the past week, a figure that highlights the intensifying aerial attacks in the ongoing conflict between the two countries.
According to the ministry, the highest numbers of drones shot down were recorded on July 13 and 16, with 926 and 802 drones targeted respectively on those days.
Russia had previously stated that, as part of its military operations, it targeted drone production workshops in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine.
The Russia-Ukraine war, which began in February 2022, has recently seen an increased use of drones by both sides, with aerial assaults becoming one of the primary methods of engagement.
