Karzai expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and described the action as contrary to the principles of good neighborliness. He emphasized that attacks on residential areas and harm to civilians, especially women and children, are unjustifiable.

He called on Pakistan to abandon its policy of war and destruction towards Afghanistan and instead adopt a path of good neighborly relations and civilized interaction.
