Two Arrested in Italy After Deadly Arson Kills Four Agricultural Workers

Italian police have arrested two men in connection with the intentional burning of a vehicle in southern Italy, an incident that resulted in the deaths of four agricultural workers, including three Afghan nationals and one Pakistani citizen.
According to the state broadcaster RAI, the victims were agricultural workers present in the Amendolara area of Calabria in southern Italy. The report added that the two arrested individuals are also Pakistani nationals.
Security camera footage shows the suspects pouring a flammable liquid inside the vehicle before setting it on fire. In part of the footage, one suspect can be seen trying to keep the vehicle doors closed as the fire rapidly spreads.
Italian judicial authorities stated that the bodies of the four victims were found inside the vehicle on Monday. Alessandro Dalsio, the prosecutor in the city of Castrovillari, confirmed the arrest of the two suspects and said investigations are ongoing.
Meanwhile, another occupant of the vehicle, an Afghan citizen, managed to escape the scene and was taken to hospital with burn injuries. His health condition has not been officially disclosed.
