Man Arrested in Paktika for Possessing 19,000 Fake Afghanis

Officials from the Paktika Police Command under the Taliban administration have announced the arrest of an individual accused of possessing 19,000 counterfeit Afghanis. According to the authorities, the person was identified and apprehended in the jurisdiction of the second security district of Sharana city, the provincial capital.
A released statement stated that initial investigations regarding the case are ongoing, and after the completion of legal evaluations, necessary actions will be taken.
Security officials emphasized the importance of preventing the distribution and use of counterfeit currency to maintain economic stability and protect the national currency’s credibility. They described the possession and circulation of fake money as illegal.
The national currency, the Afghani, is considered the backbone of commerce in the country, and experts have consistently warned that the spread of counterfeit banknotes could negatively affect public trust and the market situation.
