Serbia Affirms Support for One-China Principle, Regards Taiwan as Part of China

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić declared that his country considers Taiwan as part of China’s territory and reaffirmed Belgrade’s unwavering commitment to the One-China principle. He stated that Serbia’s stance on the issue remains clear and unchanged.
In an interview with Zou Yun from CMG network, Vučić emphasized that the Taiwan issue is an internal matter for China and that Serbia supports Beijing’s official policy on the subject. The One-China principle forms the foundation of the People’s Republic of China’s foreign policy regarding Taiwan and other disputed regions.
China has consistently stressed adherence to this principle by other countries, calling it a red line in its foreign policy. Beijing has warned against any support for separatist movements in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, and Tibet.
Meanwhile, tensions between China and the United States over Taiwan have increased in recent years. The U.S., focusing on its Indo-Pacific strategy, has taken actions that China views as potentially escalating diplomatic rivalry and raising concerns about the possibility of military confrontation between the two powers.
