Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar to Visit Washington for Talks with US Secretary of State Rubio

Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that Muhammad Ishaq Dar, the country’s Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, will embark on an official visit to Washington tomorrow to meet with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The meeting is set to cover bilateral relations, regional and global developments, and topics of mutual interest.

Ishaq Dar, who traveled to New York to participate in United Nations Security Council meetings, will proceed to Washington after completing his engagements there. According to Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, both sides will explore ways to strengthen cooperation on key priority issues during this visit.

Based on the official statement from Islamabad, part of the discussions will focus on Pakistan’s efforts to promote peace and stability in the region through negotiation and diplomacy. This comes amid Pakistan’s recent role as a mediator in dialogue processes involving the United States and Iran.

The Pakistani foreign minister’s visit to Washington occurs at a time when diplomatic activity among regional actors has intensified, with dialogue and tension reduction becoming priorities for several countries. Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the trip as a sign of Islamabad’s commitment to expanding and consolidating its long-term partnership with the United States.
