WAHDAT Project Supports 650,000 People in Herat and Farah Provinces

The Special Trust Fund for Afghanistan has announced that the WAHDAT project covers around 650,000 people in the provinces of Herat and Farah. This program is implemented in collaboration with four United Nations agencies.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), International Organization for Migration (IOM), United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) all contribute to the execution of this project.

The main focus of the WAHDAT project is to provide housing, improve social infrastructure at the community level, empower local residents economically, reduce risks from natural disasters, and strengthen social cohesion.

Herat and Farah provinces, located in western Afghanistan, have faced economic challenges, displacement, and natural events in recent years. Community-centered programs like this can play an important role in improving the living conditions of the residents in these areas.
