China and Pakistan Emphasize Five-Point Peace Initiative to Restore Regional Stability

Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Islamabad and Beijing have stressed the implementation of a five-point initiative aimed at restoring stability and peace in the region. The ministry added that both countries expressed their readiness to actively participate in regional peace processes.
According to Islamabad, China appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in facilitating a ceasefire agreement between Iran and the United States. Further details about the five-point initiative have not been disclosed, but its goal is stated to be the strengthening of stability and reduction of tensions in the region.
Meanwhile, at the conclusion of Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s official visit to Beijing, the two sides issued a joint statement announcing a new agreement to deepen strategic cooperation. The visit took place within the framework of close political and economic relations between the two countries.
The joint statement noted that China and Pakistan agreed to accelerate and enhance the development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). This corridor, considered one of the major infrastructure projects within bilateral cooperation, plays a key role in regional connectivity.
Both countries also expressed their willingness to expand regional and international cooperation and welcomed the participation of third parties in the development of this economic corridor—a move that could extend the scope of economic collaboration beyond bilateral relations.
