Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif Confirms Continued Military Operations Inside Afghanistan

Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has announced that his country’s military operations inside Afghan territory are continuing with full determination. Sharif emphasized that these operations are targeting bases and infrastructures of groups that, according to him, operate from Afghan soil against Pakistan.
He made these remarks during a speech to military officers and faculty members at the Command and Staff College in Quetta, stating that the operation named “Ghadhab Lil Haq” (Wrath for Justice) will persist to protect the lives and property of Pakistani citizens. According to Sharif, Pakistani forces are resolute in dismantling the centers and capabilities of these groups.
Sharif again accused groups such as ISIS-Khorasan, Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, and the Baloch Liberation Army of having a presence and activity in Afghanistan, urging the Taliban administration to take “real and effective actions” against these groups. This claim comes despite Taliban officials consistently denying any use of Afghan territory against other countries. However, continued cross-border attacks into Pakistan have heightened concerns about violations of Afghanistan’s national sovereignty and increased instability in border areas.
The Pakistani Prime Minister also referenced tensions and conflicts with India, asserting that Islamabad will defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity “at any cost” and will show no leniency against what he described as threats to national security.
