Taliban Official Meets Kyrgyzstan’s Deputy Prime Minister in Kazan to Discuss Bilateral Cooperation

The head of the Taliban’s Higher Education Department, Sheikh Neda Mohammad Nadim, met with Kyrgyzstan’s Deputy Prime Minister Amangeldiev on the sidelines of the 17th Kazan summit to discuss expanding bilateral relations. According to released information, both sides deliberated on developing economic cooperation, increasing trade, transit, and implementing joint projects, emphasizing strengthening interactions between the two countries. During the meeting, the acting head of the Higher Education Ministry urged Kyrgyzstan to invest in Afghanistan’s raw material processing, industry, and other economic sectors. This request comes amid Afghanistan’s economic recession and extensive banking and financial restrictions, which continue to pose serious challenges for attracting foreign investment. Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan’s Deputy Prime Minister expressed his country’s readiness to support Afghanistan’s infrastructure and economic projects, noting that railway projects could play a significant role in Afghanistan’s economic growth and regional connectivity. Experts believe that expanding transit networks, given stable political and legal conditions, could improve Afghanistan’s position in regional corridors.
