Afghanistan and Russia Hold Inaugural Joint Economic Commission Meeting in Moscow

The first Joint Economic and Trade Commission meeting between Afghanistan and the Russian Federation was held in Moscow. The meeting was attended by the Taliban administration delegation, led by the acting Minister of Higher Education, on the sidelines of the 17th International “Russia and the Islamic World” summit.

During the meeting, both sides discussed expanding economic and trade cooperation as well as strengthening bilateral relations. The main focus of the discussions was developing interactions across various economic sectors.

The acting Minister of Higher Education of the Taliban administration welcomed Russia’s role in regional cooperation and expressed hope that the relationship between Kabul and Moscow would grow broader and more effective in the future.

The “Russia and the Islamic World” summit is an international event aimed at enhancing political and economic cooperation between Russia and Islamic countries, providing a platform for bilateral consultations among participating delegations.
