Trump Reshares Post Calling for Obama’s Arrest, Intensifying US Political Tensions

Donald Trump, President of the United States, reignited political tensions by resharing a post on the social media platform Truth Social that called for the arrest of Barack Obama. This move has been widely reported across the country’s media. The reshared post came from an American user who labeled former President Obama a “traitor” and demanded his arrest. Trump shared the post on his official page without adding any additional comment. In recent days, Trump has escalated his verbal attacks against Obama and members of the Democratic Party. He again criticized the 2015 nuclear agreement between Iran and the then-US administration and condemned Democrats for supporting the deal. The US president also wrote that Obama’s policy towards Iran was “very accommodating” and claimed that this approach strengthened Iran’s position. These assertions come despite the deal having been supported by some of the United States’ international allies at the time of signing. Furthermore, Trump targeted media outlets close to the Democrats, describing The New York Times as “one of the worst newspapers.” In part of his remarks, he mentioned the cost of building a “reflecting pool” during Obama’s administration, claiming such a project could have been completed for less money and in a shorter time. Within the last 24 hours, Trump has posted more than 20 messages criticizing Obama and certain American media, highlighting the escalating political competition and divisions within the United States.
