Book and Historical Artifacts Exhibition Held in Logar to Promote Reading and Cultural Heritage

Officials from Logar’s Information and Culture Department announced the opening of a book and historical artifacts exhibition aimed at promoting a culture of reading and introducing the province’s ancient heritage. The event was attended by local authorities and a number of residents.
Maulvi Faizullah Johari, head of Logar’s Information and Culture Department, said during the inauguration ceremony that the main goal of this initiative is to strengthen the habit of reading within the community and to familiarize people, especially youth, with the country’s historical artifacts. According to him, such programs can help bring young people and students closer to books and reading.
According to officials, alongside hundreds of book titles, a collection of historical artifacts discovered from the Mes Aynak copper mine area were also displayed at the exhibition. These artifacts are currently preserved in the museum associated with the Information and Culture Department and are recognized as part of the country’s cultural heritage.
Meanwhile, Dr. Rafiullah Sameem, head of the Public Library of the Ministry of Information and Culture under the Taliban administration, stated that similar initiatives have been launched across various provinces to promote the culture of reading. He noted that exhibitions, academic competitions, and seminars are among the measures currently underway in this regard.
Several visitors welcomed the exhibition, saying that such events can increase young people’s interest in books and highlight the importance of preserving historical artifacts.
Private bookstores also participated in the exhibition, offering books to visitors at a 20% discount.
