Over 31,000 Flood-Affected People Assisted in Afghanistan, UN Reports

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has announced that humanitarian partner agencies have expanded aid efforts to communities affected by floods across various parts of Afghanistan, reaching more than 31,000 people with life-saving assistance.

According to OCHA, the aid includes food supplies, emergency shelter, health services, and other essential needs for residents in the impacted areas. Relief operations are ongoing, with humanitarian teams working to assist families who have lost their homes and possessions.

However, OCHA emphasized that the continuation of this response depends on sustainable funding. The agency warned that without adequate financial resources, the distribution of aid will face disruptions.

In recent years, Afghanistan has repeatedly experienced natural disasters such as devastating floods. These events, combined with the ongoing economic crisis and existing limitations, have placed additional pressure on vulnerable families. Relief agencies continue to call for sustained international support to address the urgent humanitarian needs in the country.
