36 Wild Birds Released in Herat to Protect Wildlife and Ecological Balance

The National Environmental Protection Directorate has announced that 36 wild birds, previously confiscated from environmental offenders, have been released into the natural habitats of Herat province. According to the agency, this action is part of targeted programs aimed at wildlife protection and maintaining ecological balance. The released birds included 15 partridges, 8 mynas, 12 quails, and 1 eagle. The source added that these birds had been seized from individuals violating environmental regulations. The National Environmental Protection Directorate emphasized that safeguarding wildlife species and preventing illegal hunting and possession remain top priorities of the agency. Herat is one of the provinces with significant biodiversity in western Afghanistan, and environmental experts consistently stress the importance of protecting native species to avoid disrupting natural cycles.
