55% of Americans Support Impeachment of President Trump, Poll Shows

A recent poll in the United States reveals that 55 percent of American adults support the House of Representatives’ vote to impeach Donald Trump, the country’s president; a figure described by American media as unprecedented. According to this poll, 37 percent oppose impeachment, while 8 percent remain uncertain.

The findings indicate that this level of support is not limited to Democrats; a segment of Republican voters, including some who supported Trump in the 2024 election, also back the impeachment process. Reports show that about one-fifth of Republican respondents in the poll favor his removal.

American media have attributed the decline in Trump’s and the Republican Party’s popularity in recent months to a series of events and decisions. Strict immigration policies, handling of leaked cases related to Jeffrey Epstein, and economic management are among the issues influencing public opinion.

Furthermore, Trump’s recent statements and posts on social media regarding the Iran war have sparked renewed debates in the US political sphere. Some critics have condemned his remarks and raised questions about his political judgment and approach.

Meanwhile, several Democratic members of the US Congress have stated that Trump could be subject to impeachment proceedings or even review under the 25th Amendment of the Constitution, which allows for the removal of a president under certain conditions. The “Strength In Numbers” poll, which asked whether people support the House’s vote to impeach Trump, aims to assess public backing for such an action.
