Trump Extends Ceasefire with Iran Amid Continued Military Readiness

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has announced the extension of the ceasefire with Iran, stating that American military forces remain on high alert. He added that he has ordered the blockade to continue and that troops in other sectors should remain capable.

Trump’s announcement of the ceasefire extension comes despite his repeated statements in recent days that he would not renew the truce. According to him, Pakistan’s Defense Minister Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif requested that any potential attack on Iran be postponed until Tehran presents a proposal.

The U.S. president continues to insist that Iran must participate in the talks Washington seeks to hold in Islamabad. However, the Iranian delegation did not travel to Pakistan for the negotiations, stating that talks would not take place under pressure, blockade, and threats.

In recent days, some American media outlets reported that U.S. representatives had gone to Pakistan for the talks, and warned that if no agreement was reached, clashes could resume. Nonetheless, Iranian officials have yet to make any official statement regarding their participation in the alleged talks and have emphasized that the ceasefire was violated by the United States and that they reject negotiations under duress.
