Qatar Emphasizes Result-Oriented Mediation in Regional Conflicts

Mohammed Al-Khulaifi, Qatar’s Minister of State, stated at a high-level meeting on the sidelines of the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum that Doha pursues mediation not for visibility or political rivalry, but as a responsibility based on effectiveness.
He emphasized that the goal of mediation should be achieving sustainable solutions, rather than temporary or short-term agreements. According to him, Qatar’s efforts focus on creating outcomes that ensure long-term stability.
Al-Khulaifi referred to his country’s role in reducing tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan. He noted that Qatar’s mediation last year resulted in a ceasefire between the two nations.
In recent years, Qatar has played a mediating role in several regional issues, striving to foster dialogue and pave the way for understanding among conflicting parties.
