Russia Emphasizes Diplomatic Resolution as Priority in Ukraine Conflict
Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister has stated that Moscow has always sought a diplomatic resolution to the Ukraine war, emphasizing that the crisis can be managed through dialogue. On Tuesday, Yevgeny Ivanov declared that the Ukraine issue remains central to Russia’s diplomacy.
Referring to the role of Western countries, Ivanov claimed that the Ukraine crisis was provoked with the aim of containing Russia. He added that Russia has supported negotiation as a fundamental solution to existing issues both in the past and present.
Despite several rounds of talks and temporary ceasefires, clashes between Russia and Ukraine continue, and efforts to reach a lasting peace agreement have so far yielded no concrete results.
The ongoing war and the failure of peace talks have also been described as challenging for Donald Trump, the President of the United States. He had previously promised to end the conflict in the early days of his presidency, but hostilities persist.
