WHO Trains 55 Health Workers in Balkh to Enhance Early Detection of Non-Communicable Diseases

The World Health Organization announced that it has trained 55 community health workers in Balkh province to strengthen the early diagnosis and referral process for patients suffering from non-communicable diseases. Among the participants in this training program, 43 were women.
This program focused on diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, chronic respiratory conditions, and common cancers. The goal of these trainings is to increase the capacity of health workers at the community level so they can identify patients in a timely manner and refer them to specialized medical centers.
Non-communicable diseases are a major cause of mortality in many countries, and early diagnosis can prevent serious complications. Training health workers locally is considered an effective strategy to deliver lifesaving services to remote areas and improve residents’ access to healthcare.
The World Health Organization also expressed gratitude to the sponsors of this program, stating that their financial support made the implementation of this training possible.
