WHO Donates 374 Medical Kits to Jowzjan Province Health Department

The Ministry of Public Health under the Taliban administration has announced that 374 medical kits have been delivered by the World Health Organization (WHO) to the Public Health Directorate of Jowzjan Province. According to the ministry, these supplies were handed over to the pharmacy management of the directorate during an official ceremony on Sunday.
A statement published on the ministry’s X (formerly Twitter) page noted that the handover process took place in the presence of an appointed delegation. Syed Ziaullah Hosseini, head of the Jowzjan Public Health Directorate, expressed gratitude for the continued collaboration with WHO, emphasizing that these aids will be effectively used based on the health sector’s priorities.
The Ministry of Public Health added that these medical kits play a vital role in enhancing the preparedness of health centers, especially in emergency situations, and can improve the delivery of services to patients.
In recent years, Afghanistan’s health sector has heavily relied on international aid organizations. The continuation of such assistance is considered essential to maintaining the operation of health centers in many provinces, including the northern regions. This situation underscores the Taliban administration’s responsibility to manage these resources transparently and effectively.
