Sheer Ahmad Haqqani, the Taliban’s Minister of Information and Culture, visited Herat province to review the progress of the TAPI project. Mawlawi Ahmadullah Muttaqi, head of Information and Culture in Herat, also attended the visit.
According to project officials, a comprehensive report was presented during the visit addressing the implementation stages, physical progress, and future work plans. They emphasized that the project is continuing according to the predetermined plan and in coordination with the responsible institutions.
The TAPI project, one of the major regional gas pipeline initiatives, holds significant economic importance for Afghanistan and is expected to create job opportunities and strengthen transit revenues.
However, detailed information on the actual progress in Herat areas and the completion timeline has not been transparently disclosed; an issue that economic experts consistently highlight as essential for gaining public trust and encouraging further investment.
