Israel Continues Attacks on Southern Lebanon Despite Ceasefire

Amid ongoing tensions in southern Lebanon, news sources report violations of the ceasefire by Israel, with several artillery shells fired at various areas within the country. Al Jazeera has reported that the Israeli army’s artillery targeted the regions of Beit Lif, Al Qantara, and Toulon in southern Lebanon.

The Israeli military, confirming these attacks, stated that armed individuals were targeted south of the so-called “Blue Line.” The military claimed that these individuals had approached Israeli soldiers and posed a threat.

Simultaneously, the Israeli army announced that it had conducted aerial and ground operations in the past 24 hours, claiming to have destroyed Hezbollah-related infrastructure in southern Lebanon. However, independent details on the extent of damage and potential casualties have not been released.

On the other hand, Israeli officials declared that residents of 55 villages in southern Lebanon will not be allowed to return. These officials further emphasized that operations to destroy Hezbollah infrastructure would continue even during the ceasefire, a development that could pose new challenges to stability in the border regions.
