China Rejects Any Country Acting as Global Judge and Policeman

China’s Foreign Minister stated that no country can unilaterally act as the world’s judge and policeman, emphasizing that the security of nations must be ensured based on international law. Wang Yi made these remarks during a meeting with Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, in Beijing, referring to recent developments in Venezuela. He stressed that Beijing opposes any approach where a country positions itself as the arbiter or enforcer of global order.

According to Wang Yi, the principle of national sovereignty and the security of all countries must be supported without exception and in accordance with accepted international law. No power should operate beyond this framework.

Meanwhile, several countries have condemned Washington’s actions against Venezuela, including the attempted seizure of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, calling it a blatant violation of the United Nations Charter. Analysts believe that gaining access to and control over Venezuela’s oil resources was a primary motivation behind this move.

Some experts also view these pressures as an attempt to force Caracas to submit to the demands of the United States, a process critics argue contradicts the principles of political independence of nations.
