Spring Campaign to Plant Thousands of Trees Kicks Off in Kabul

The National Environmental Protection Agency announced that as part of the 1405 spring tree-planting campaign, the program to plant thousands of saplings has begun today in Kabul. This initiative is being implemented in cooperation with the Afghan Wireless Communication Company and involves planting saplings at the premises of the National Radio and Television as well as at the Arghandi terminal under the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation.
At the event held on this occasion, Maulvi Saaduddin Saeed, the Financial and Administrative Deputy of the agency, described tree planting as a “great service” for the greenery of the country and stated that in recent years, residents’ interest in expanding green spaces has increased. He emphasized that protecting the environment and the greenery of Afghanistan is a shared responsibility of the people, the Taliban administration, and national and international organizations, calling for practical steps to be taken in this regard.
The deputy head of the National Environmental Protection Agency also appreciated the cooperation of partner organizations and called for expanding support in the field of environmental protection and combating climate change, a phenomenon that Afghanistan, as one of the vulnerable countries, directly experiences the consequences of.
Furthermore, Mohammadi Khan Yaqubi, the legal advisor of Afghan Wireless, said the company seeks to contribute to public welfare sectors, including the country’s greenery, and intends to continue its cooperation. He urged other institutions to actively participate in environmental programs.
Maulvi Noor Mohammad Hanif, head of broadcasts at the National Radio and Television, and Dr. Hafizyar, head of planning at the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, welcomed the initiative and assured that the planted saplings would be properly cared for and maintained.
The National Environmental Protection Agency has declared its plan to plant ten million saplings across the country in 1405 in collaboration with its partners.
