Kabul Mayor Emphasizes Timely and Quality Execution of Construction Projects

The Mayor of Kabul, in a meeting with representatives of construction and road-building contracting companies, stressed the importance of completing ongoing projects on schedule and with standard quality. He warned that serious actions would be taken against violations and delays.
According to the Kabul Municipality, representatives of the companies discussed their problems, challenges, and suggestions during the meeting. After hearing their views, the mayor directed the relevant officials to take the necessary measures to address and resolve the raised issues.
The Mayor of Kabul stated that delays, substandard work, and any negligence in project implementation are unacceptable to the citizens and will be seriously pursued by the municipality’s leadership. He noted that contracts with companies found violating standards would be terminated.
He added that contracting companies are obliged to complete projects based on approved designs, technical documents, and within the specified timeframe. He emphasized that no individual or institution would be allowed to waste public funds and development opportunities.
The Kabul Mayor also stressed the management of projects on busy urban routes, stating that work should be organized through multiple work shifts to minimize disruption to city residents. He said that safety measures, regular water spraying, and proper removal of excess materials and construction supplies must be strictly enforced.
Referring to the role of quality construction in orderly and sustainable urban development, he said Kabul Municipality maintains continuous monitoring and control over project implementation. However, citizens always expect responsible institutions to apply these controls transparently and accountably to prevent recurrence of poor-quality work and waste of public assets.
