Tehran to Host Regional Talks on Afghanistan Next Week

Iran will host a regional meeting on Afghanistan in the coming days, according to the country’s foreign ministry. The talks aim to foster dialogue among neighboring countries in a bid to enhance cooperation and regional stability.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei told reporters that Iran remains in contact with neighboring states including Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, China, and Russia. He said the upcoming meeting is part of ongoing consultations between Iran and these countries.

Baghaei emphasized that the conference is the result of sustained dialogue and expressed hope that this new initiative would pave the way for more effective cooperation on Afghanistan’s future.

The talks come as the Taliban-led government in Kabul has yet to gain international recognition, and the country continues to face political and economic crises. Regional meetings of this kind are typically held to seek common solutions for restoring stability and preventing the spillover of insecurity into neighboring nations.
