Saudi Airstrikes in Southern Yemen Leave Over 25 Dead and Injured

Local sources in southern Yemen report that Saudi airstrikes targeting areas controlled by the Southern Transitional Council have resulted in at least 25 casualties, including women and children. The attacks focused on the Zubaid district in the province of Shabwah.
According to reports, the Saudi air force carried out more than 15 strikes on the area. Zubaid is known as the birthplace of Aidarus al-Zoubeidi, the head of the Southern Transitional Council in Yemen, and is considered a significant location in the military developments in southern Yemen.
Al-Mayadeen network reported that Saudi fighter jets have bombarded various targets in Shabwah province since the early hours. The intensity of the attacks has caused civilian casualties, raising concerns about increasing harm to local residents.
In response to the incident, a spokesperson for the Saudi-led military coalition in Yemen stated that the airstrikes were conducted as a “preventive” measure. According to him, Aidarus al-Zoubeidi was moving forces and military equipment, including light and heavy weapons and ammunition, from Hadid and Sulban bases toward Shabwah.
The Saudi coalition announced that the strikes took place at dawn to prevent the escalation of conflict in Shabwah. Residents in the affected areas were also urged to avoid military bases in Aden and Shabwah and to refrain from gathering around military vehicles to protect their lives.
