Germany Relocates 11 Afghan Refugees from Pakistan

Germany has transferred 11 Afghan refugees from Pakistan, according to German media reports including Deutsche Welle. The group arrived in Hanover on Tuesday, November 10, via a commercial flight from Islamabad.

This marks the fifth group of Afghan asylum seekers officially relocated from Pakistan to Germany since the current coalition government took office.

The individuals are part of a larger population of Afghan refugees who have been waiting in Pakistan for resettlement in Germany. Media reports indicate that over 1,900 Afghan nationals are currently on the list for relocation.

Many of these refugees fled Afghanistan following the Taliban’s return to power, and they now face uncertain futures while waiting in Pakistan. The relocation process has faced criticism for being slow and lacking transparency.

Despite pledges by Western nations, including Germany, to support vulnerable Afghan citizens, prolonged waiting periods in countries like Pakistan have intensified the psychological and economic pressures facing these families.
