General Ahmadi Says Transfer of Bagram Has Entered Operational Phase

General Fareed Ahmadi, former commander of commando forces under the former Afghan Republic government, has stated that plans related to Bagram have now entered the operational phase. He made these remarks on his official page on the social media platform X.
According to General Ahmadi, the United States officially concluded negotiations with the Taliban administration in Doha eight months ago. However, due to the presence of extremist groups such as Al-Qaeda and internal disputes within the Taliban, these talks have reached a deadlock.
He added that the U.S. has now initiated new and complex discussions with fronts of democratic forces opposing the Taliban. However, he did not provide further details on the content of these negotiations or how coordination with these mentioned fronts is being managed.
Meanwhile, the U.S. government and officials in Washington have yet to officially respond to these claims. These remarks come at a time when many Afghan residents express dissatisfaction with the international community’s silence regarding the Taliban administration’s repressive behavior and call for support of the forces opposing the group.
