Israel Launches New Airstrikes in Southern Lebanon Amid Ongoing Tensions

International news sources have reported that Israel has once again targeted areas in southern Lebanon with airstrikes. According to these sources, a vehicle in the town of Harouf in southern Lebanon was hit, but so far no further details about casualties or the identities of those inside have been released.
Hours before this incident, Lebanese sources reported the death and injury of four people following another attack in the south of the country. The Emergency Medical Center affiliated with the Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that, as a result of an Israeli airstrike on the town of Abba in the Nabatieh region, one Lebanese civilian was killed and three others were wounded, including a 16-year-old.
These attacks continue despite more than a year having passed since a ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel was reached; an agreement aimed at ending the war and reducing tensions. However, on-the-ground realities indicate that this ceasefire has been repeatedly violated and that airstrikes persist.
Observers say the continuation of these attacks raises serious questions about the effectiveness of the ceasefire agreement and the extent of Israel’s adherence to its declared commitments — a situation that has further heightened the concerns of residents in Lebanon’s border areas.
