Iran and Pakistan Foreign Ministers Discuss Regional Developments and Tension Reduction in Phone Call

Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, held a phone conversation with Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on Sunday, July 12, to discuss recent regional developments and ways to reduce tensions. According to a statement from Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the call mainly emphasized restraint and tension management.
The Pakistani Foreign Ministry said that Mr. Dar called for tension reduction and urged all parties to adhere to restraint, in line with the memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran. He stressed that dialogue and diplomacy are the only solutions to disputes and the path to lasting peace and stability in the region.
The statement further noted that Pakistan expressed its readiness to play a constructive role in supporting regional peace and stability. Both sides also agreed to maintain close contacts for ongoing consultations and to follow up on regional developments.
