WFP Continues Food Aid Distribution Amid Harsh Winter in Afghanistan

The World Food Programme (WFP) has announced that despite one of the harshest winters in recent years, the distribution of food aid across Afghanistan has not been halted.

According to this information, convoys carrying food supplies from this humanitarian organization have managed to navigate difficult, snow-covered routes to deliver aid to those in need. The provinces of Farah and Badghis are among the areas where food distribution is ongoing.

Videos and images released by the World Food Programme show that despite adverse road conditions, their vehicles have strived to transport food to the most remote regions—areas that are especially vulnerable to shortages during the winter season.

This comes as the Taliban administration’s takeover, coupled with economic crises and widespread restrictions, has made access to food and essential services more difficult for millions of Afghans, increasing reliance on humanitarian assistance.
